Ms. Joy Kearney, Director of Recreational Services

Ms. Kearney graduated from Old Dominion University (ODU) with a M.S. Ed. in Sport Management.  She also completed her undergraduate work at ODU receiving a B.S. in Sport Management and a minor in Management.  She participated in intramural sports and was part of an all-girls flag football team that was Nationally Ranked.  In addition, was a member of the Sport Management Club.   

Prior to Ms. Kearney's appointment as Director of Recreational Services, she has worked and volunteered in various avenues of sport and even outside of her major.  Her experience includes, but is not limited to: Community Services Coordinator for Lincoln Property Company, Marketing & Special Events Assistant for the Virginia Sports Hall of Fame & Museum (VSHFM), and she interned with the Hampton Roads Sports Commission assisting with the AAU Junior Olympics.

She currently is a Professional Member of the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA), as well as a member of the Virgnia Recreational Sports Association (VRSA). Ms. Kearney is CPR/AED and First Aid Certified.
